Question by Ann Lowrey: Is the vitamin “Chromium” only helpful to those with Diabetes? I am a 22 year old who needs to desperately loose 50+ lbs to be healthy. My problems are that I have a low metabolism and I do not care for “greens” such as lettuce, peas, etc.
I recently joined the amazing site, www.sparkpeople.com which has really opened my eyes. But after telling it what I eat during the day, it says I lack protein. I Googled this and found that Chromium can be a good supplement for this but everything I read mentioned that it was great for people with type 2 Diabetes. But could this vitamin also help me with my struggle to lose weight?
And if not, is there another vitamin that’s better out there that promotes weight lose effectively?

Answer by knowitall Chromium is a mineral, not a vitamin. Protein can be in meat, legumes, nuts, eggs, cheese, dairy, etc. Cinnamon is good for lowering blood sugar. You can take this in pill form or just add it to everything you eat. Get at least 1 tsp. a day.
