Understanding Proper Gym Etiquette

Many people are not aware that when you are in the gym there are certain modes of behavior which you have to adhere to. Bodybuilding is a sport of gentlemen and you therefore have to behave accordingly when you are in the gym. Some people have been banned from going to there local gym because they always end up rubbing other bodybuilders the wrong way when they are there. In order to avoid this you have to familiarize yourself with the gym etiquettes so that you avoid any future embarrassments.

The things you really need to avoid when you are training in the gym include;

1. When training in the gym it is quite natural to sweat and this usually covers the gym equipments. You should make sure that you leave the gym equipments the same way you found them even if it means wiping the sweat off with your towel or tissue.

2. You should also avoid sitting on gym equipments which you are not using. This is because there could be other trainers who want to use them also.

3. When you are in the gym you should avoid any idle chit chat especially when handling machines which are in high demand. You should be considerate about the needs of the other people who are training in the gym.

4. When training it is also important that you ensure you are not blocking the other bodybuilders from accessing gym equipments which is usually the case when you are training on the walkway.

5. If there is a place where you need to avoid idle chit chat then its got to be the gym. Therefore when you are in the gym do not talk to another trainer who is in the middle of a set.

6. You should also avoid invading the training space of other bodybuilders when training. You need to keep your distance to avoid distracting other bodybuilders.

7. When resting you should not deny another bodybuilder the opportunity to use your training equipment since you are not using it. The gym is a place where you need to exhibit great courtesy when relating with the other trainers.

8. Another thing to remember is that as soon as you have finished performing your set you should ensure that you place the gym equipment you were using in there right place. If you do not put them in there right place and lets say you leave them lying on the floor carelessly you could end up injuring yourself or somebody else.

The way you relate with other people in the gym will determine whether you are going to succeed in bodybuilding. If you are not able to establish sound relationship with the other trainers you will find yourself switching from one gym to another. This is not good when it comes to achieving muscle growth because you will not be able to maintain consistency in your training which is very necessary in order to succeed in attaining muscle growth.

Lets Take A Closer Look At International Fish Oil Standard

In the quest for searching the best quality fish oil products most of us rely on known quality standards. Most popular one is IFOS, International Fish Oil Standard.
But have you ever given it a thought that what exactly is it? Who they are? How to they test? What are the parameters?

With the growing popularity of omega 3 more and more people are demanding these supplements and therefore more and more players are entering the market. With recent scientific studies reporting high contamination levels in sea water and hence in all marine by products it becomes all the more important that there should be one central agency that regulates the standards so that there is not room left for cheap or ineffective products.

IFOS is an international program that tests the omega 3 health supplements for various safety standards as mentioned by World Health Organization and Council for Responsible Nutrition so that these supplements are safe for human consumption.

This standard is different from ISO and Good Manufacturing Practices because both these standards concentrate more on the process where as International Fish Oil Standard focuses on the purity of end product. If a company follows an ISO 9001 process it means that the process to manufacture is well documented and followed every time. They do not deviate from the process but that does not guarantee best quality of the end product. It may be useful to a certain extent but it can no way tell you about the level of toxins present in the end product.

IFOS tests products on four parameters -

Concentration
This is a one to one comparison of level of DHA/EPA present in the product vs. as claimed on the label. If you examine the label of any fish oil you will see that presence of DHA is mentioned like 200mg per 1000mg. These tests make sure that manufacturer is not supplying misleading information to the customer. If the product is IFOS compliant then you can find the true levels mentioned in the product report.

Purity and Safety
This checks for the levels of harmful chemicals like Mercury, PCBs and Furans.According to CRN standards the level of Mercury and PCBs should be 90ppb and 100ppb (ppb = Parts Per Billion) respectively and as per WHO standard Furans should be 2ppt (Parts per Trillion). If you take a look at the safety report of the product you will come that if your product is actually following safety standards or not.

Stability
This tells about the oxidation levels of the fish oil gels. These are core chemistry related details; instead of getting into details let us just keep ourselves limited to understanding that the lower the oxidation the better it is for us.

Presence of Heavy Metals like Lead, Arsenic, Nickel etc.
All these are toxic chemicals that are very very harmful for human beings. If the level of these chemicals should be below the safety limit as suggested by WHO only then the fish oil is considered safe for human consumption.

Companies that produce omega 3 can enroll in this program and get their product tested for purity and freshness. The certificate from International Fish Oil Standard is a clear indication of credibility.

If you are looking for a healthy omega 3 supplement for your family then make sure that the products that you buy follow IFOS or a standard which is stricter than them. You can find all this information on the website of the company.

This is the easiest way to stay away from the cheap products and select the best and effective supplements that give long lasting results to you and your family. Understanding and Naturally Curing Lawn Burn from Dog’s Urine

The problem of dogs urine burning our lawns is a common one, the end result is dead lawn patches that not only look ugly and take a long time to repair, but often leave lawn owners looking for a solution to keep their lawn green. As we’ll see, we shouldn’t be looking for a quick repair when the problem occurs, but looking at lawn care and dog care that compliment each other and reduce the occurrence and severity of damage of dog urine damaging our lawns.

The lawn is burnt from the excess nitrogen in the dogs urine, so whenever the dog pees, the lawn is burnt. I hear some readers asking “doesn’t lawn need nitrogen for it’s health?” “Isn’t nitrogen required to make a lawn green?” Absolutely is the short answer, the problem happens because dog urine contains too much nitrogen, more than the lawn can handle.

Onto an old wives (or husbands) tale about male versus female dogs being responsible for the damage. Well the answer is that we can squarely put the blame on the female dog! Why? Because when male dogs pee they usually lift their leg and leave small deposits against trees, bushes, walls and similar places which act as “marker posts” for their scent, now when the female dog pees she usually squats on the lawn and relieves her entire urine package in one single action. This means more urine in one spot, which is usually on the lawn, this means dead spots!

We’ve seen the why and how, now lets have a look at fixing the problem which comes down to the nitrogen content in the urine. High nitrogen urine results from the h igh protein in the dogs diet, so lets fix that. Start by adding some vegetables into the dogs meals, this is just plain good health care for your dog because they need variety and ruffage from vegetables for a balanced and natural diet, this will reduce the nitrogen levels in the pee.

Another reason why nitrogen levels raise is due to the quality of protein being used in the dogs food. Basically, cheap dog food contains cheap protein sources which are often bypassed within the dog and converted directly into nitrogen. Whereas higher quality dog food is used more to nourish the dog and less is converted into nitrogen by the dogs system.

The next important thing with this lawn care tip is exercise! The more a dog is exercised, the more protein will be consumed from it’s feeding and the less nitrogen will be created, which would normally be deposited onto our beautiful lawn.

Isn’t that great news! The dog gets a better feed, becomes healthier and reduces the damage to your lawn when they go pee! It’s as easy as that!

Last of all I’m going to make mention of a recent fad around the world to fix this problem, I’m not going to mention the product specifically because I don’t want to promote these types of potentially dangerous products. These companies want us to buy some products that we put into our dogs food or water to reduce nitrogen levels in the pee. Well… don’t do it! Ever! We would be messing around with our dogs digestive system with unknown results, remember the dog can’t complain to us when it’s had a stomach ache for the past 3 years now can it, all we’ll see is a miserable and destructive dog that the family really may not like anymore. Now really we don’t want to mess with our dogs health do we? Best to show our love, treat our dogs well, look after them, keep them happy and healthy by following a few very simple dog and lawn care routines, and keep enjoying our dog’s inclusion in our families.
